Music Painting

After we've done our monogram presentation, it was time to relax... Ms Lisa gave us a small assignment which is music painting. Ms Lisa told us that this is a relaxing assignment, when you listen to the music, and just draw whatever in your mind. We will need to come up with 2 different paintings while listening to the musics. First one would be the classical music and another one was contemporary music. Each music was played for 2 hours.
So, the two paintings that I've done were this. It contained many emotions while I listening to music and painting. While the soft, relaxing or happy musics were playing, I started to use some soft colours such as pink, orange and yellow colour to paint it. But while the sad and emotional musics were playing, I used some deeper colours on my paintings such as blue and black colour. At the beginning, my minds went to blank, and I didn't  know what to paint, but after that, I kept calm, and many elements came to my mind. I was thinking how I spent my time with my best friends during my secondary school time, how happy was I. Then, I was thinking of some sad love stories while the emotional music was playing. All these made me done the special paintings...I felt really great after done these paintings because we all have been go through a lot recently, and it was finally over!

Before I end my last blog updating, I have to say Thank you to Ms Lisa. Thanks for your caring and patience for guiding us throughout the whole semester. Sometimes, I knew that some of us aren't that talented in doing those assignments, but you would still guided us patiently, you would also told us how to make it better. Truly thank you to Ms Lisa! It was really sad to me because it was finally over. We might not have the chance to meet again but I will still remember how we have been spent our time together, not just with all of my course mates, but the lecturers as well. Seriously, I've learnt a lot and a lot from this subject. I also had a lot of fun during every class. Then, I will also need to say 'Thank you" to all my course mates. I really enjoyed doing assignments with you guys, grouping with you guys. Sometimes, we were chilling during the class while the classes were actually stress, you guys made me felt good and relax. You guys will also helping me and giving me opinion whenever I had troubles. Some of you made me stronger, and realized that true friendship isn't only depends on that short term. When the time past, you will only know that who is the one cares about you and those friendships. I've learnt that not to judge a book by its cover. Lastly, thanks for those who are still willing to stay beside me eventhough some aren't. I'm really glad to have you guys. Hope we can meet again.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! :)

Final Presentation

Finally, today was my last day for 2D Design... And it was our final presentation for the monogram assignment. I felt quite sad because it's time for me to end this. Couldn't forget how I spent my time together with my course mates and also Ms Lisa. As usual, we all placed our monogram items at somewhere in class and started to present it. Everybody did a great job! Thanks Ms Lisa for giving us some compliments.

Thank you!!! :D

Monogram stenciling and printing

After Ms Lisa finalized our sketches, the next thing we had to do is stenciling. We printed our drawing on a transparent paper and then cut it out. After that, I used different colours to stencil my monogram. At the beginning, we were told to select 6 items and print our monograms on it. So, let's take a look of my monogram on 6 items.

Thanks for spending time on my blog, will be updating more....

Monogram sketching in progress

Today, we spent our day sketching in the class. Then, Ms Lisa would be giving us some feed backs and tell us what to do.... I also tried to sketch with different colours and see how it will goes. This was a quite meaningful class since Ms Lisa keep giving us some comments on our monogram sketches. I've learnt from this lesson.

Monogram assignment

This day, Ms Lisa explained about logo and monogram. She also gave us a brief about our 4th assignment which is monogram design. We were told to design our own monogram and print it on 6 selected items. First, she told us to borrow some books from library to do our research for designing a logo and also some references. So, all of us went to library and started to look for our books. I borrowed few books from there and started to do my research. After doing some research, I felt quite interested in elegant fonts. Below is the books that I borrowed from library...

Batik Trip

Yeah...this day, we were going for a batik trip. It was a one day trip and we would be finishing our batik assignment by this day. I was so excited and glad that I could go for this batik trip, because I never do batik before. This means a new experience for me... This is a batik gallery which located at Kuala Lumpur. Then, we started with our batik painting. There was also some workers who keep helping us during the whole process. Special thanks to them. It was quite hard to draw to outline of our drawing by using the wax. But still I managed to do it.

This is our batik painting....

After we coming back from there, we've waited for few days to receive the batiks from the batik gallery. Next, we got our batiks back...It was time for presentation...

Assignment 3- Batik

After a short semester break, and we were back! It was time for a new assignment... This day, Ms Lisa gave us a short brief of the new assignment, which was a batik assignment. First thing that we have to do is to form a group of 4 persons. So, here is my group members, Marwa, Twinnce and Annie. After that, we were told to sketch about our batik theme. Then, all groups need to post up our sketches and let Ms Lisa choose it. So, have a look of our sketches...

After that, Ms Lisa said that she's quite keen on the mermaid theme and asked us to develop it further. She wanted us to make a good composition on it so that it can divided to 4 pieces...
Here is our final sketch after developing...

Will updating about it, Thank you!

Paper Cutting Presentation

Now it's time for Ms Lisa to finalize our drawings...After she choosing my symmetrical sketches, Ms Lisa keen on 2 of my asymmetrical drawings, it's hard to choose it because Ms Lisa said 2 of them looked quite nice. But yet, she chose it. Below is my final sketches.

After that, it's time to start my cut out session! I started to cut the symmetrical first, because the drawing that I need to cut out is difficult and complicated. As the presentation was around the corner, so I would need to work faster.

Seriously, during the symmetrical cut out, I went crazy because it was really hard and complicated. I would need to cut a small piece of paper and paste it back one by one. Besides, presentation was coming soon and I had to burn my midnight oil to finish it. But, as I promised myself and Ms Lisa that I will work harder and harder in this semester, so no matter how hard is it, I will still go through it, I will prove everyone that I can do it!
Yeah~I did it! Here's my final outcome...

Here, I have to say 'Thank you' to Ms Lisa. I've learnt a lot from this assignment, not just the cutting skill but it also taught me not to give up whenever I have troubles. Finally, I succeed. And fortunately, the final outcome didn't disappoint Ms Lisa. I felt really proud of myself because I did it. Thank you, Ms Lisa!

Paper Cutting Assignment

"What's in your square?" Today's lesson was about our very first individual assignment. Basically, "what's in your square" is about expanding the squares. We will have a square paper and what we need to do is design anything within the square. After that, we need to cut out our drawings and expand it by pasting it out of the square. There's two things we have to do, one is a symmetrical paper cutting, another is asymmetrical paper cutting. Actually this assignment is a bit similar with one of our assignment in semester 1 which was also a paper cutting assignment. I felt quite excited because I love paper cutting so much. Let's have a look of my rough sketches of this assignment.

Next, we will need to finalize our sketches by Ms Lisa. She will be choosing one of the best sketches from our symmetrical and asymmetrical drawing.
Thank you! :D
